Sangam Kala Group Organises National Singing Talent Hunt in the Memory of Master Madan

A National Singing Talent Hunt, a mega event in the memory of the immortal singer- Master Madan was organised by Sangam Kala Group on 18th September 2017 at Sirifort Auditorium, New Delhi.

The National Singing Talent Hunt is being organized for the last 36 years by Sangam Kala Group, a prominent, non-commercial registered group engaged in the promotion of arts and culture in the country. The Group has 77 chapters all over the country and 7 chapters abroad.

This year, the Talent Hunt coincided with the celebration of 40th year of the foundation of Sangam Kala Group.
Famous singer Sonu Nigam (Singer), Penaz Masani (Versatile Singer), Kumar Vishu (Playback Singer), Mohit Marwah (Bollywood Actor),
Nalini Kamalini (Noted Kathak Dancer), NICKK (Playback Singer & Composer) were the Star attractions of the show.

More than 20,000 participants participate at the preliminary and the state level finals and the most outstanding singers (400-500) were invited for the inter-state and the mega semi-finals out of the same.18 most elite singers in the film and non-film category were selected to participate in the mega finals.

VSK Sood, Chairman of Sangam Kala Group said “Sangam Kala Group needs no introduction to the music, dance, and drama loving audience. The Group is the prominent non-commercial registered cultural group which is engaged in the promotion of Country’s artistic cultural tradition. The group owes its existence to the concerted efforts and devotion of young amateur artists dedicated to the cause of cultural promotion. Founded in 1974 by some such enthusiasts, the Group set forth as its main objectives the provision of cultural smooth flow of their talents in the form of dance, drama, and music.”

Mr. Sood further said, “The Group started in a humble way by organizing plays which had one common theme “the social reform”. The plays served a dual purpose of not only making the audience think about social reforms but also of bringing to light the amateur talent which normally remains behind the veils because of lack of opportunities. In 1977, the Group organized the First All India Light Music Vocal Competition in the memory of the immortal singer Master Madan.

Talking about Master Madan, Mr. Sood said, “He was the Durbar musician of His Highness the Raja Sahib Bahadur of keonthol State (Simla Hills). The Group organized this competition to spot amateur talent in the Country and bring it out of oblivion, laying special emphasis on discovering singing talent amongst the below fourteen age group. Renowned Music Director & composer from the radio, television, and films have graced the panel of judges to select the best talent. The Group also offers scholarships to educate promising voices in light music.”

Salamat, Akriti Kakkar, Toshi & Sharib, Tochi Raina, Late.Ishmeet, Harshit Saxena, Harshdeep Kaur Javed Ali., Abhaas, Diwakar, Arshpreet, Shivani kashyap, Harish Moyal, Aditi, Amit Sana, Sreeram, Rakesh Maini, Gaurav Bangia, Vipin Aneja, Abhilasha and many More, ” Mr. Sood said,

This year the competition was organised in film and non-film category in three age groups-Sub Junior (5-12years), junior (12-18 years), and Senior (18-28 years).
