Celebrating woman empowerment at Mrs South Asia 2017
• 30 contestants from different parts of the country sashayed the ramp
• Delhi at its glamorous best at the just concluded Mrs South Asia 2017 beauty pageant

It was a starry night. The 2017 edition of Mrs South Asia, which is perhaps one of the most highly regarded beauty pageants in India for married woman, saw the best of Indian women from different parts of the country. Gone are the days when contesting a beauty pageant was a distant dream for married women in India but with the advent of dedicated beauty pageants for married women, there are many women who are coming forward to fulfill their dreams of becoming a supermodel. Mrs South Asia is a beauty pageant that celebrates the essence of being a woman.
Hosted at the opulent Kingdom of Dreams, the grand finale saw 30 contestants from different part of the country. Fashion consultant Aizya Joshi, the brain behind the concept said, “The winners are selected on the basis of talent, fitness and zeal to work on social causes. Our motto is women empowerment and essentials of the society thereby focusing on various societal causes that we deeply believe in. We aim to inspire every individual to not only have faith in these fundamentals but to also contribute in every possible manner and make a difference.”
The house was packed with audience cheering up on every beat and move the beauty queens made. The show was directed by fashion choreographer Dipanker Kashyap while makeup and hair design was by Rachna Arora and her professional experts. In totality there were 10 international winners who were crowned, 4 from regular category and 6 from classic category. After many rounds of selection, the jury announced the following as winner Mrs Suhasini Sudan Maheshwari bagged away with the Mrs South East Asia Universe, Mrs Amisha chaudhary bagged Mrs India United Nations, Mrs Shalu Punetha got the title of Mrs Asia United Nations, Mrs Reshita Baruah as Mrs India World while in the classic category Mrs Sabina Parvez Wajri bagged the title of Mrs India Universal, Mrs Seema Varshney got Mrs India Universal Elegance, Mrs Sukhi Karegoudar got Ms India World Elite, Mrs Vijaya Shekhar got Mrs India United Nations, Mrs Varsha kushwaha got Mrs North Asia Earth, Mrs Pranami Bharati bagged away the title of Mrs South Asia Earth.

Further Joshi added, “We induct our contestants with high regards to environmental needs so that they inherit the vital stance of nature preservation and set a paradigm around their habitation. List goes on to many more like girl child education, breast cancer awareness, water conservation, basic hygiene awareness that we include in our agenda to ensure we create modern day contemporary ambassadors.” The starry night that was attended by the who’s who of the capital went on till the wee hours.
