By MONALISA GOGOI

Three banned militant outfits of North East region has warned the Hindi and Bengali speaking people of Karbi Anglong ,Kamatapur and Tripura to leave those three areas before 31st of March this year. Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO),People’s Democratic Council For Karbi Longri (PDCK),National Liberation Front Of Tripura (NLFT) are the militant organizations which have warned these common people through a joint release .According to them, Kamatapur ,Pragjyotishpur and Kamrup were not a part of India till 28th March,1949 so these are the areas where the local people should enjoy the full freedom to live .

They have the opinion that at present, the Bengali and Hindi speaking people has started colonial rule at these areas and they have already root out the indigenous people from its economy ,agriculture and business. At the same time , it is seen that the central government is also trying to rehabilitate Hindu Bengali refugee at these area . Bengali people had burnt down the houses of local people on 27 th November in 2000 at Kamatapur and it was instigated by the then CM of West Bengal ,Bhuddhadev Bhattacharya . In the same release, they also mentioned that Indian Government had forced to sign the’ Toipra Merger agreement’ and under that pact Tripura became a part of India . But in 1971 , the Central government allowed to settle Hindu Bengali people there and as a result , the local people had lost their control over their economy ,agriculture ,politics and everywhere .They have lost their rights at their motherland . Moreover ,Karbi Anglong was also not a part of India before independence and in 1971 ,Indira Gandhi allowed to settle Bengali people there and now these outsiders have been playing major role in every aspects of the district .Indira Gandhi had done that great blunder and she also allowed to settle there the migrated Hindi speaking people from different parts of India .Adding to that they mention that Central government has followed ‘divide and rule policy’ there and accordingly it had instigated different types of clashes among different tribes like Karbi-Kuki ,Karbi-Dimasa ,Karbi –Naga .

According to the release ,these outsiders has controlled every aspects of the local people and these simple people has lost their right to live .The fate of these community is fully controlled by the so called Indian and Bengali people .So ,they have no other way except bringing back the rights on their property to the hands of their people .The Bengali and Hindi speaking community will have must leave those area before 31st March and if someone fails to do so ,he or she should must keep themselves ready to face any kind of violent situation .
