Delhi BJP President Shri Manoj Tiwari on Monday night met the residents of Arjun Das Jhuggi Camp an Laxmi Bai Nagar under New Delhi Assembly Constituency. Shri Tiwari reached there around 8 pm and left after 10.30 pm.

Local Jhuggi Dwellers Smt. Mohammadi, Smt. Mala Devi, Smt. Ferunisha, Smt. Asha Devi, Shri Raj Kumar & Sh. Mohd. Tayyab Shah apprised Shri Manoj Tiwari about their problems.

They complained of Growing Influence of Alcohol & Drugs Amongst Jhuggi Youth & Non Cooperation of Delhi Government in Controlling It apart from non functional borewell, dangerously hanging electricity supply line, dangerous condition of toilet blocks, lack of female bathing space, overflowing sewer lines and drinking water shortage. Jhuggi Residents requested for C.C.T.V. network & L.E.D. Light Pole installation and making a speed breaker on the main road passing by to give a semblance of security.

Shri Tiwari has said that Arvind Kejriwal came to power promising jhuggi dwellers of proper homes but is today ignoring his own jhuggi dweller constituents. Shri Tiwati has assured jhuggi dwellers that he would take up the matter of Arjun Das Jhughi Camp with N.D.M.C. authorities and request them to work to make this Arjun Das Camp a Model Camp.
